The Diamond Microwave 400Watt GaN high-power amplifier (HPA) is its flagship HPA platform that can also be offered as a 200W model (DM-X200-02) and with or without control and monitoring via an ethernet port. The HPA is a compact alternative to vacuum tube amplifiers (TWT) and offers typically >400W over a 1300MHz bandwidth and pulse widths up to 100µs with duty cycles up to 15%. Over a 750MHz bandwidth it approaches 500W.
This product can be combined to achieve >900W with an external Diamond Microwave 2 way power combiner (see DM-X1K0-03). An internal electronically adjusted phase offset can be applied to optimise power combining with alternative combiners.
This SSPA is a "smart" product, with control and monitoring functions accessed via an ethernet port. It incorporates monitoring of forward and reverse power in its output path, as well as temperature, duty cycle and operating current. All monitored parameters are addressable via the ethernet interface with self-protection activated if the SSPA detects that a default or user-set threshold is crossed for RF power, temperature, duty cycle or current. The SSPA will provide a visible alarm and alert the host system when a threshold is exceeded.
This compact SSPA is ideal for use in demanding defence, aerospace and communications applications. The design is flexible in layout and architecture and can be tailored to meet individual specifications.
